  Answering Your Questions

Q. As a sales representative, my SunPass sees a great deal of action. I commute to work on Florida's Turnpike every day and my territory covers Miami to Orlando. How can I maintain my SunPass transponder so it continues to work at optimal performance?

A. Maintaining your SunPass transponder couldn't be easier. Since you use SunPass frequently, it's a good idea to change your transponder's batteries every six months. Less frequent users should consider changing batteries every six months to a year. Batteries can be purchased at RadioShack® or other local electronic or hardware stores. The battery type for the transponder is CR2032. If the unit becomes dirty with fingerprints or dust, feel free to wipe it down with a damp cloth but don't get it wet or immerse the transponder in water. It's your responsibility to take good care of your transponder to avoid damage and abuse. The new gray transponders have two-year warranties against manufacturing problems or defects. However, if abuse occurs, your warranty will not be honored. If you have any questions or concerns about your transponder, please call Customer Service at 1-888-TOLL-FLA (1-888-865-5352).
