What are Thru Lanes?

Thru lanes are additional travel lanes located on a toll road that help provide congestion relief in high traffic areas. These lanes offer customers making longer, more regional trips, the ability to bypass the local traffic entering and exiting the road. Customers pay the same amount to use the thru lanes as they do in any other lane on the toll road. A SunPass or another interoperable transponder is required.

THRU LANES FAQS

Thru lanes are a great option for longer distance trips since customers can use these lanes to bypass local traffic.  The added bonus is that customers pay the same toll in the thru lanes as they would in any other lane on the toll road.

Entrance and exit points in and out of the thru lanes are based on travel patterns in the area.

Drivers using the thru lanes must have an active SunPass or another interoperable transponder. Cash is not accepted. If you are a Georgia resident with an active Peach Pass or a North Carolina resident with an active NC Quick Pass, or an E-ZPASS customer, you can use the thru lanes with these transponders in your vehicle.
