Project Details

Key project improvements include:

The Turnpike interchanges at Hainlin Mill Road (SW 216th Street) and Cutler Ridge Boulevard (SW 211th Street)

    • Widening of Hainlin Mill Road and Cutler Ridge Boulevard under Florida’s Turnpike to provide additional through lanes and left turn lanes
    • Milling and resurfacing

 

Bridge improvements

    • Widening of the Northbound Turnpike Bridge over Caribbean Boulevard

 

Bridge repairs

    • Northbound Turnpike Bridge over Tallahassee Road (SW 137th Avenue)
    • Southbound and Northbound Frontage Road bridges over the Black Creek Canal
    • Southbound Frontage Road bridge over Canal C-1N between Eureka Drive and Quail Roost Drive
    • Northbound Turnpike bridge over the Black Creek Canal

 

New noise walls at eight (8) locations

    • Fill Gaps at Milepost (MP) 5.8, 7.5, 7.8 (Northbound and Southbound), MP 10.2 (Southbound)
    • New installation along Turnpike (Northbound) between Caribbean Boulevard and US 1 (near MP 12)

Project Area

Florida’s Turnpike (SR 821) and Surface Street Improvements project includes the design of improvements along the Turnpike (SR 821) and surface streets between Hainlin Mill Road (SW 216th Street) and SR 5 (US 1).

Project Status

This project is in Design. Construction is funded for Fiscal Year 2025.
