You are here:

Florida's Turnpike Right of way

The primary mission of the Office of Right of Way is to acquire the real property necessary for the construction of transportation facilities. There are four programs associated with Right of Way—Valuation Services, Acquisition, Relocation Assistance, and Property Management.

VALUATION SERVICES

The Office of Right of Way uses real estate appraisals to help determine what the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will offer land owners when their property is needed to be purchased as part of a transportation project.

RELOCATION ASSISTANCE

Some right of way projects conducted by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise provide relocation assistance to affected property owners and tenants. The right of way agent assigned to you will let you know whether relocation benefits are available.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

The Property Management Program is responsible for clearing property purchased for transportation purposes.

ACQUISITION

The acquisition program is responsible for buying the property that FDOT needs to building and improving Florida’s transportation infrastructure.
