Project Details
Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is scheduled to begin a Transportation Systems Management & Operations Project to add Auxiliary Lanes from Turnpike Extension/SR 821 to Griffin Road/SR 818. This project will increase roadway capacity, reduce congestion and improve travel times by adding a lane in each direction of the Turnpike Mainline.
The project also includes additional safety improvements at Hollywood Boulevard/SR 820 and SW 63 Terrace by closing the median to reduce vehicle conflict points and accidents, and at Hollywood Boulevard and S. 62 Avenue by eliminating the eastbound and westbound turn lanes. This $230 million project is anticipated to be completed in late 2029.
