Introduction

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, part of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is widening a one and half-mile section of Florida’s Turnpike Mainline/SR 91 from US 192 to Partin Settlement Road in Osceola County.

The project will add two new lanes in each direction, expanding the roadway from four lanes to eight lanes. Additional improvements in this project include construction of new entrance/exit ramps at the US 192 (SR 500) interchange, milling and resurfacing, drainage upgrades with new stormwater ponds, and various safety enhancements.

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise follows a comprehensive approach to environmental analysis for all projects. This includes evaluating potential impacts on natural resources, protected species, wetlands, and cultural resources, as well as assessing noise, air quality, and social effects. The agency coordinates with relevant environmental agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
