A LOOK AT FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) was formed in 2002 as a business unit of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). It employs private sector business practices to operate its system of limited-access toll highways for the benefit of Florida’s traveling public. While customer safety is a top priority for FTE, the enterprise also aims to pursue innovation, ensure value and quality of service to its customers, protect its investors and improve cost effectiveness. Net revenue from Florida’s Turnpike is reinvested into projects like building new highways or making improvements to existing highways on a statewide basis.
