There are three types of formal procurement: an Invitation to Bid (ITB), a Request for Proposal (RFP) and an Invitation to Negotiate (ITN).

How Formal Bidding Works

  1. The scope of work is advertised on the Vendor Information Portal (VIP).
  2. A Pre-Bid meeting is held, if necessary.
  3. Bids are received and publicly opened.
  4. Submittals are reviewed, and FTE’s intent to award is posted on the MFMP.
  5. The contract is signed by all parties, insurance and bonding information is provided and the contract is executed.
