Project Details

Florida’s Turnpike Mainline/SR 821 and Surface Street Improvements project includes the design of improvements along Florida’s Turnpike Mainline/SR 821 and surface streets between Hainlin Mill Road/SW 216th Street and SR 5/US 1. The project will increase operational capacity, improve safety, address roadway and structural deficiencies, and enhance overall traffic operations at the interchange between Florida’s Turnpike Mainline/SR 821 and Hainlin Mill Road/SW 216th Street.

The project includes new noise walls at six locations – including five noise wall gap closures, and a new noise wall along Florida’s Turnpike that extends approximately 1400 feet between Caribbean Boulevard and US 1.

Two noise wall gap closures at MP 5.8, ITS improvements south of MP 7.0, and bridge improvements to the NB bridge over Tallahassee Road (SW 137th Avenue) were moved from this project to project 444111-1.

*Please note that updates have been made to the project since the Public Information Meeting held on April 18, 2023, and April 20, 2023. Additional information regarding the updates can be found in the project newsletter below.
