Memorial Markers

Turnpike-memorial-marker

In order to increase public awareness of highway safety, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will consider the placement of memorial markers within the Florida’s Turnpike System right of way. The purpose of these markers is to remind motorists to drive safely by memorializing those who have died as a result of a vehicle-related crash. The cost for the construction, installation, maintenance and removal of the memorial markers are covered by the FDOT. The markers will be allowed to remain in place for a minimum of one year.

Memorial Marker Requests

Requests for memorial markers may be made by immediate family members or by friends, with requests from friends requiring the approval of the deceased’s immediate family
