Design Criteria and Standards

As part of the Turnpike’s continuing quality enhancement effort, the Turnpike Design Handbook (TDH) that includes Parts 1, 2, 3, and 9, and the Turnpike Guide Drawings, has been developed to provide consultants, reviewers and management with a single source of additional Turnpike-specific requirements that modify or add to the requirements included in the FDOT Design Manual (FDM).

The Turnpike Supplement to the FDOT Structures Manual provides Turnpike-specific revisions to the FDOT Structures Manual.

The Turnpike Supplement to the FDOT Drainage Manual provides Turnpike-specific revisions to the FDOT Drainage Manual.

The purpose of the General Tolling Requirements (GTR) is to serve as the main source of tolling requirements for various project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Design-Build-Finance projects.

The Landscape Master Plan outlines the Turnpike’s vision, design philosophy, work program, technical criteria, and performance monitoring metrics. Components of this Master Plan serve to provide specific guidance beyond statewide standards for the development of landscape projects within the Turnpike highway systems.

The Landscape Setback Guide provides Turnpike-specific setbacks from landscape plant material to the various elements within the Limited Access right of way.  These include but are not limited to drainage structures, right of way fencing, ITS equipment, underground utility lines, etc.
